Shelly did an excellent job as my agent from start to finish, including recommending some lenders to choose from for pre-qualification, asking questions to understand my location focus and what I wanted in a house, and helping me evaluate old houses downtown - she has great knowledge about older homes. She noticed a lot of things in looking at houses that I would have missed, and was a great negotiator with both of the houses I seriously considered. Shelly is a highly experienced agent who has excellent recommendations for a house inspector, for getting repair proposals to present during the inspection process, and she is a great negotiator on both the purchase offer and the demands we made during inspection. Doug Yochem was an absolute pleasure to work with. We did the entire transaction from out-of-state and he was extremely responsive and supportive throughout the entire process, including a deal that we ended up walking away from after the inspection revealed major flaws. Doug was incredible as a stand-alone professional, but the team that he has assembled made each of the many facets of the purchasing process go smoothly as well, from the incredibly comprehensive inspection that gave us critical information about the condition of the homes, as well as negotiating power, to the lender that he recommended who was miles ahead of the other lenders that we reached out to, both in responsiveness and in the loan options and terms that she was able to secure. Doug's ability to coordinate with contractors to get needed quotes with very fast turn-around was key to our ability to make well-informed offers on two different homes. We used Jen to buy our house and we also used her to sell our house and dare I say she even made it enjoyable. The whole team was amazing. They took care of doing pictures of our house. They had a source for everything, for example, we wanted to clean our house before we showed it and they had someone to offer us so we didn’t have to shop around. They will leave no stone unturned. Even though we are now in a different state, I would never hesitate to reach out to this team if I had a question about buying or selling a house in the future.

The first time was to purchase our first home - we weren’t easy clients. We were guiding backcountry elk hunts, rarely had service and were 5 hours by vehicle from Grand Junction. We trusted her enough to sign over Power of Attorney and with a few phone calls - one from horseback during a blizzard - we closed on our first home. She made what seemed to be impossible happen and we closed on our first home without ever stepping inside (2021 market and our budget required us to make some leaps of faith). The second time was when we decided to sell that very house we purchased with her. I called her on a Thursday and by Monday it was on the market. A week after that we had a full price offer. Karen moves fast and is the real deal, always available and dedicated to the client. Rather than telling us what we wanted to hear regarding price and repair negotiations, she gave us prudent advice based on the current market and our unique circumstance.
