Downtown Grand Junction Lights Up the Season on November 21

Every community has a moment when the season officially begins, and in Grand Junction it happens on Main Street. The Downtown Tree Lighting, presented by Enstrom Candies, is Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the 4th + Main Plaza.

The highlight is the countdown. Santa lights the tree at 4th and Main and every light along Main Street at the same moment, then stays to visit with the kids before heading back to the North Pole. If you've never watched a whole block flip on at once, it's worth bundling up for.

What I like about this one is how simple it is. You don't need tickets or a plan. Park downtown, grab something warm, and walk. Main Street is easy to explore on foot, and it's the kind of evening where you'll run into neighbors you haven't seen since summer. For anyone thinking about calling the Grand Valley home, it's a pretty honest picture of the community: small enough that Santa knows your street, big enough that downtown still fills up.

Mark a second date while you're at it. The Downtown Parade of Lights is scheduled for Saturday, December 5, 2026, at 5:00 pm, with lighted entries rolling down Main Street. Downtown Grand Junction's event pages are the best place to confirm times and any street closures as the dates get closer, since details can shift.

Dress warm, because November evenings on the Western Slope cool off quickly once the sun drops behind the Book Cliffs. A hat and gloves will serve you better than any plan.
