John brings more than four decades of experience in real estate, law, and community leadership to clients across Mesa County and Western Colorado. As a long-time attorney specializing in transactional and real estate law, John has spent his career helping individuals, businesses, and developers navigate property, construction, and land use matters.
Before joining The Christi Reece Group, John served as legal counsel and project manager for Gateway Canyons Resort, working directly with founder John Hendricks to oversee the development, construction, and early operations of the resort and it's surrounding ranch properties. His role involved land entitlement applications, local government approvals, and management of complex agricultural and water rights issues—experience that now gives his real estate clients a unique advantage when buying or selling property in Western Colorado.
John’s deep local knowledge and professional credibility are matched by his community involvement. He has served as Board President of the Grand Junction Economic Partnership, Hilltop Community Resources, and the Grand Junction Visitors and Convention Bureau. Twice elected to the District 51 Board of Education, John has also chaired the board of Eureka! McConnell Science Museum. His dedication to civic leadership earned him recognition as Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 2018.
As a REALTOR®, John specializes in commercial, agricultural, and business sales, as well as residential real estate. Clients value his integrity, analytical approach, and ability to guide transactions smoothly from negotiation to closing. His background in law, local government, and property development allows him to anticipate issues and advocate effectively for every client.
A lifelong resident of Mesa County, John is passionate about Western Colorado’s land, lifestyle, and people. When he isn’t working with clients, you’ll likely find him outdoors—skiing at Powderhorn Resort, running, hiking, camping, or mowing his lawn (something he genuinely enjoys). Married to his best friend, Kim, for over 40 years, John is proud of their two children and five grandchildren—and of calling this community home.
If you’re considering buying, selling, or investing in Western Colorado real estate, John Williams brings a rare combination of legal expertise, local experience, and personal commitment to every relationship.
