Julie didn’t just move to Grand Junction - she fell for it. Trading the flat horizons of small-town northeastern Indiana for the dramatic landscapes of Colorado, Julie earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Denver and then headed west to Grand Junction in 1994. There, she found a place that matched her appetite for adventure and community in equal measure, and thirty-two years later, she’s watched the Grand Valley transform from a hidden gem into a thriving destination.
Her path to real estate was anything but ordinary. In 1996, Julie set off for Europe - first exploring Prague, then spending three years teaching English on the sun-drenched island of Crete, Greece. Living abroad gave her a passport full of stamps and a hunger for discovering the world on its own terms, as she traveled extensively throughout Europe and beyond. She returned to Grand Junction with a law degree from CU Boulder and a worldly perspective that would shape everything that followed.
Julie’s legal career was as dynamic as her travels. In the early 2000s she co-founded Mountain Sprouts - manufacturer and wholesaler of children’s outdoor apparel that earned multiple prestigious Apex Design Awards in the Outdoor Industry, where she served as Vice President and In-House Counsel. She went on to practice employment and business law, and held quasi-judicial positions with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.
All of that - the legal acumen, the entrepreneurial grit, the cross-cultural savvy - now fuels her work as a full-time REALTOR® with The Christi Reece Group. Julie doesn’t just help people buy and sell homes; she guides them through one of the most significant decisions of their lives with the precision of an attorney and the warmth of a neighbor.
The team she’s part of speaks for itself. Ranked in the top 2% of the MLS, The Christi Reece Group has closed more than 2,400 transactions and over $963 million in volume since 2019, earning multiple “Best of the West” awards, the Best of Zillow designation, and 369+ five-star Google reviews. Through the group’s Circle Fund, the team has donated more than $513,000 to local nonprofits - because for Julie, real estate has always been about more than transactions.
When she’s not advocating for her clients, Julie is busy living her best Western Slope life: restoring her 1920 downtown Craftsman home back to its former glory, conjuring up savory soups and culinary magic in her kitchen, hitting the trails, catching live music and theatre, losing herself in a classic film, hunting down the next great restaurant, and piecing together jigsaw puzzles in good company. Through it all, she’s joined by Princess Sophia - her lynx-point Ragdoll rescue cat, who rules the household with regal indifference.
