Top 5 Distilleries & Breweries In Grand Junction

    With the craft beer and creative liquor manufacturing on the rise, there are plenty of breweries and distilleries to try out in the Grand Valley.  Colorado is no stranger to being the trendsetter and we certainly have been gaining a lot of ground in this subject. Here are the top 5 local distilleries and breweries around town.

     

    Edgewater Brewery is conveniently located by the new Las Colonias Amphitheater down off of 9th street and Struthers Avenue.  They have recently updated the building and have a wonderful outdoor seating area.  Live music is showcased often and they also have games in the outdoor area as well. Edgewater Brewery offers seasonal, award-winning craft beers along with a delicious menu to choose from.  They are always coming up with a unique new favorite and have their tried-and-true options all year long. Edgewater Brewery is a secondary location to Kannah Creek Brewing Company and they both do not disappoint.  Kannah Creek Brewing Company is located on 12th Street and has a wonderful ambiance as well.  Both locations have similar options, but are distinctive in their own way.

    Highlands Distillery is fairly new to the Grand Valley and is located off of 24 Road near I-70.  Sharing the same location as a lavender farm, they surprise patrons with cocktails infused with lavender, among other interesting flavors.  They pride themselves on using as local as possible ingredients and currently have handcrafted vodka and gin. Highlands Distillery will have other spirits in the future as well, but for now, have some of the most fascinating mixtures in town.  They offer distillery tours, tastings, and private events as well, so book a party or come for a quick taste of local flavors.

    Suds Bros. Brewery is located in Fruita, but is definitely worth the short drive out west of Grand Junction proper.  With an assortment of craft beers, everyone will find a new favorite. Offering a happy hour Monday-Friday from 4pm-6pm, this gives everyone the opportunity to taste all the different flavors available.  Suds Bros. Brewery has a delightful menu, full of bar favorites and they serve lunch and dinner every day. They keep their full bar stocked with local wine, cider, and present a number of Moscow mules to choose from.  If you are ever in Fruita, Suds Bros. Brewery is a great place to stop and enjoy one of their ever-changing beers and listen to some local music.

    On the other end of the valley, nestled by the train tracks of Palisade, Peach Street Distillery is a locally treasured hang out.  The name says it all when it comes to location, as they are located on Peach Street right down the way from the Palisade Brewing Company.  Deeming themselves “fearless craftsmen”, this distillery always has a fresh take on a new spirit. From apricot brandy to their famous Goat vodka, they have an assortment of hand-crafted spirits to choose from.  With a beautiful outdoor patio and the distillery visible from your seat inside, you will feel right at home in this Palisade retreat. They don’t offer food, but usually have a food truck nearby to fulfill your late night cravings.

    As previously mentioned, the Palisade Brewing Company is within walking distance of the Peach Street Distillery. They have wonderful craft beer along with a menu that will tickle your taste buds. A spacious patio accompanies the indoor seating that fills up quick.  From porters to blonde ales, you have your pick of a big list of craft beers.
